Nati Soto

Natividad “Nati” Soto, FAIA, LEED APBD+C is a Florida registered architect and interior designer. She is President of Ferguson Glasgow Schuster Soto, Inc. a Coral Gables based Architecture and Interior Design Firm established in 1955. Since 1994 she has led the Firm’s practice of design excellence in health care, parks & recreation, cultural facilities, and institutional works with designs that reflect the client’s unique identities and withstand the test of time.

Nati’s volunteerism reflects her passion for establishing sustainable and healthy communities, achieving advancement of the architectural profession and establishing an equitable society. She currently Chairs the Property Committee for the Miami Advisory Board of The Salvation Army. She is a believer that Architecture is integral to human wellness and everyone deserves design excellence.

Her work with the American Institute of Architects earned her AIA College of Fellows elevation in 2015 in recognition of her exceptional work and contributions to architecture and society. In 2024 AIA Miami inducted Nati into its Hall of Fame. Her AIA service includes 2021-2023 College of Fellows Regional Representative, 2020 Chair of the AIA Florida Strategic Council, 2019 AIA Florida President, 2014 AIA National Culture Collective Initiative Member, 2014 AIA Women’s National Network Chair, 2013 Women in Architecture Toolkit Co-Author, 2010 Co-Founder of AIA Miami Women in Architecture, 2010 AIA National Host Committee PR Co-Chair, 2009 AIA Miami President, member and past Chair of FAPAC, and more. She served on the Miami Center for Architecture and Design (MCAD) Founding Board and as MCAD 2016-2018 President.

Nati is a visiting lecturer and involved alumnus of the University of Miami School of Architecture, where her Firm established a scholarship that benefits African-American architecture students. She was awarded the School of Architecture’s Centennial Medal in 2025 in recognition for her achievements, leadership and service to the school.

As strong believer of mentorship, Nati served on the Board of the Spanish International Parents Assoc. where she chaired the 1999 Educational International Studies Student Trip to Spain. Over 100 students/teachers/chaperones participated. She was instrumental in that year’s record-breaking fundraising supporting travel scholarships. These scholarships allowed students from Sunset and Coral Way Elementary’s lower income families to participate in the life forming experience of attending a Spanish school and visiting the country’s cultural institutions.
