Disaster Services

The Salvation Army has over 100 years of experience responding to disasters and we are always among the first relief agencies to respond in time of tragedy with food, water and other necessities and pastoral care, from the condo tower collapse in Surfside to Hurricane Ian’s Gulf Coast devastation. In Miami, we partner with the Miami-Dade County Emergency Operations Center as an official first responder and we also support other Salvation Army Area Commands statewide to bring relief.

The Salvation Army of Miami is ready to assist in the three stages of disasters through its cadre of trained personnel and volunteers and expansive inventory of facilities and vehicles: preparedness, response and recovery.

Preparedness:

Emergency Planning
Creating Partnerships
Training Personnel

Response:

Feeding Sheltering
Distributing non-food items
Emotional and spiritual care
Financial assistance
Recovery

Emergency Social Services:

Rebuilding assistance
Emotional and spiritual care
Case management to find solutions
Financial assistance
