Center of Hope

Social Services

Social Services

The Salvation Army of Miami strives to be the epicenter of hope and change. This is especially made possible through our 258 bed shelter, which serves as a safe haven for men, women, and families. The Center of Hope provides year-round care to ensure that families safely adjust from being in need to generational breakthroughs.

The average tenure within the center is 90 days and during this period, residents are guided to self-sufficiency and eventually, permanent housing. With a devoted team of specialists, the Center offers complete daily meals, help with acquiring benefits, recurring medical visits, and thorough case management. The end results are clients that have been enriched and equipped for their journey into long term stability.

Pathway of Hope

Poverty is often unexpected and difficult to navigate away from without proper resources. When unaddressed, it can become a generational pattern. The Salvation Army founded the Pathway of Hope Program, an enterprise focused on the crucial needs of the impoverished community.

The program works with families to address the cycle of unemployment, food insecurity and unreliable housing to produce a sustainable pathway forward. With dedicated case managers, family based clients are guided through a solid building process until they gain proper stability.

More Information

Veteran Program

The Center of Hope firmly stands by U.S veterans and supports their efforts to move forward within our community. Veterans within the program are given thorough and extensive rehabilitation including monitored aid and all-inclusive case management.

The objective is to prepare them for affordable housing, employment, and stability. The program also aids in connecting veterans with intermediate veterans housing and recovering their misplaced identification. Veterans account for 8% of the homeless population in the U.S. and suffer from post traumatic stress, addictions, and self medication. With the assistance provided at the Salvation Army of Miami, veterans are properly nurtured and given hope to move forward.

By exposing the wonderful benefits of the Center of Hope to the community, the ongoing challenges of poverty, instability, and hopelessness are significantly reduced.
