Betty Sanchez

Beatriz Sanchez With over 40 years of leadership experience in financial services, primarily international wealth management, Beatriz has recently taken the decision to focus on channeling her expertise into impactful non-executive board roles, helping organizations navigate complex challenges, drive sustainable growth, and execute transformative strategies.

She held the position of Chair Americas at Bank Julius Baer & Co. Ltd. Zurich, from January 1 until December 31, 2024, and served on the Executive Board as Head of the Americas from the end of 2017 until the end of 2023.

Prior to her tenure at Julius Baer, she held numerous C-level roles at notable firms including Goldman Sachs and HSBC.

She is on the Board of Directors of SURA Asset Management, based in Colombia , Another Tomorrow, based in NYC and FUNDES, an impact consulting and non-profit organization based in Mexico City and Costa Rica.

A staunch advocate for human and women's rights, she is an active member of several advisory committees of non-profit organizations. Her commitments include the Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba, the Cuba Study Group, and Cuba Emprende. Some of her current projects include pro bono work helping female micro-entrepreneurs in Cuba and constructing additional classroom facilities in the village of Mayoka in Tanzania. She is also an advisor to the Founder and CEO of Plata, a startup promoting financial inclusion among the millions of unbanked Latinos around the world, as well as rrreefs, a Zurich based, ETH social environmental impact spinoff focused on rebuilding the coral reef ecosystem globally.

Beatriz holds a Masters Degree from the University of Miami Herbert School of Business, lives between Zurich and Miami, is married and has two children.
